With a heritage of supplying information technology solutions for home and business use longer than any other company on the planet, IBM® is one of the top suppliers of computing solutions built around both physical and virtual storage infrastructure. IBM offers a broad portfolio that includes, among others, the IBM Storwize® family and the IBM FlashSystem™ 840.
Designed for software-defined environments, the IBM Storwize family includes technologies that both complement and enhance virtual environments, as well as built-in functions such as Real-time Compression™ and Easy Tier® technology that deliver extraordinary levels of efficiency. Available in a wide range of storage systems, the Storwize family delivers sophisticated capabilities that are easy to deploy, yet also help control costs for growing businesses. IBM FlashSystem 840 is an all-flash storage system that is used to make applications and data centers faster and more efficient. IBM engineers FlashSystem 840 with a relentless focus on lowering latency for data accesses. The value your business gets from an all-flash system is directly related to its latency. Where competing systems have settled on <1 millisecond response times, FlashSystem 840 counters with latency closer to 100 microseconds. IBM calls this MicroLatency™. For applications that need to go fast, MicroLatency matters; OLTP, analytics, virtual desktops, and cloud infrastructures all perform better with MicroLatency.
IBM and Atlantis have collaborated to develop joint solutions and reference architectures using the IBM Storwize V7000 for persistent, stateless and hosted shared desktops for 1,000 users and the IBM FlashSystem 840 for persistent desktops for up to 5,000 users.
