Atlantis Computing Extends Software-Defined Storage Reach in Federal Markets with August Schell Enterprise Partnership

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA and ROCKVILLE, MD – November 17, 2014  - Atlantis Computing®, the leading provider of Software-Defined Storage, today announced that its award-winning solutions will be available for purchase through August Schell Enterprises, a 20-year leader in the government IT space.

The two companies will host a joint webinar on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm Eastern to showcase Atlantis USX.

“With Atlantis in our portfolio, our customers have the tools necessary to create a true software defined data center,” said Michael Thorp, director of enterprise technology sales at August Schell. “Managing a storage environment in a SDDC is expensive and complex. By partnering with Atlantis, we can offer our customers a software solution to a storage problem that has always been addressed by adding more hardware.”

Atlantis USX is a software-defined storage solution that delivers the performance of an all-flash array at half the cost of traditional SAN or NAS. Atlantis drives down costs through intelligent, non-disruptive data optimization software that pools and virtualizes any storage. Customers are able to address increasing capacity demands and provide flash-like performance across the datacenter with no new hardware. Atlantis’s patented data mobility services reduce latency, moving virtual workloads between storage systems, datacenters and the cloud in seconds.

With the U.S. Government facing tough budget issues, Federal agencies are seeking new ways to leverage existing infrastructure investments. Atlantis USX can extend the life of an agency’s existing storage by up to five years while increasing capacity and performance. Agencies can use existing server infrastructure to reclaim storage capacity and reallocate that capacity as either enterprise SAN or NAS with the performance end users expect.

“August Schell has a long history of delivering efficient and effective data center management tools to the Federal market,” said Chris Jones, senior vice president, worldwide sales at Atlantis Computing. “By adding Atlantis solutions to its offering, the company, once again, demonstrates its commitment to helping customers scale to meet increasing demands - without requiring significant additional resources.”
